The Factory

Jeff Ammons, owner of Ammons Building Corporation, saw past the old, vacant manufacturing facility building and envisioned a place where families could: eat, shop, and play.

In 2004, his vision became a reality when 220,000 square feet of the old Athey manufacturing plant was transformed into a multi sport-family entertainment facility. Aptly named, The Factory – it is a unique family entertainment center in Wake Forest, N.C.

The Factory includes 27 sporting and entertainment businesses including: NC’s first twin-rink ice skating facility, 6-baseball fields,  indoor soccer field, basketball gym, YMCA fitness center, dance studio, tumbling gym, martial arts studio and an indoor/outdoor skateboard park, three restuarants, ice cream shop, preschool, just to name a few.  The Factory also has a banquet facility called The Mill Room which can accommodate up to 220 guests.

Ammons Building Corporation handled all aspects of the The Factory’s development and construction and Jeff Ammons is still the current owner of the facility. The Factory represents the ingenuity and vision of Ammons Building Corporation and their understanding of what works in a community.

Wake Competition Center

Jeff Ammons, President of Ammons Building Corporation, is planning a new Multi-Sport Center and Academy in Morrisville, NC adjacent to the Raleigh-Durham International airport. Ammons is the developer of The Factory which is the region’s largest family entertainment center located in Wake Forest, NC. Ammons’ experience with The Factory has led him to identify a need for similar facilities in Western Wake County and identify a need for specialized facilities that will attract amateur and professional sport enthusiast from across the state, region and nation.

Ammons’ plan for the Wake Competition Center (WCC) is to construct state of the art competition facilities that not only meet a need within the proposed geographic area but also provide for facilities that will be capable of hosting multiple amateur and professional sporting events. Initially, the WCC will include a twin-rink ice facility, championship volleyball facility, turf soccer fields and gymnastic facility.
